Welcome to the blog of Jonathan Reichel's upcoming UCF action/drama shortfilm "THE GOOD FIGHT".
The film is an action drama that focuses on the struggles of an adolescent street gang fighter and the wise mentor who saves his life, and guides him on the difficult path to maturity and emotional healing.
Official casting begins this Saturday, Feb 2nd, from 9:00am-12:00 breaking for an hour, and continuing from 1:00-9:00pm at the very latest.
We will then make Sunday Feb 3rd from 12:00 noon to 4:00pm available for callbacks and late auditions in case of emergency.
We are looking for motivated acting talent to fill the following roles:

Male 15-22, for lead, supporting roles, and extras - martial arts training a big plus.
Male 45 & older, mentor of lead character - teaching experience/martial arts training a plus.
Female 15-22, lead's possible romantic interest, martial arts training a plus.
Female 45 & older, for wife of mentor - no martial arts training necessary, but welcomed.
ALL actors will also be considerer for a second shortfilm Directed by Elana Cooper.

1-Page excerpts of the script will be provided upon your arrival, to be read for the panel. Please bring your headshot/resume (if you have one) with you to the casting. IF you have a martial arts background, please prepare a short (less than a minute) demonstration/form/kata that best demonstrates your skills at a martial artist.
The shooting will require LESS THAN 2 weekends (fri, sat, sun - less than 6 days total).
Actors will be credited in the film, well fed, and invited to celebrate the film at the grand premier of all UCF films later in the year. Actors will be provided with as many DVD copies, movie posters, and other promotional materials as deemed helpful to their resume/career. No monetary payment will be bestowed upon actors, however, they will be appreciated, and remembered for possible future paying projects.
